Well it's Spirit week once again at the girls' school. Today is disney day. Go-Go is wearing her disney princesses t-shirt, and the little one is wearing her little mermaid dress. Thursday Go-Go is going on a field trip to the art museum, and the pre-k class is having donuts for dads to celebrate father's day.
Yesterday, the little one sang: I love him and he loves me and daddy is his name O. D A D D Y... And then she got silly and sang the song with the masculine pronoun and then spelled Mommy and when she used the femimine pronoun she spelled daddy. Cracking up laughing she said, I spelled Mommy instead of daddy and then I spelled Daddy instead of Mommy. She really thought it was a riot.
This brings me to a fair warning for all parents. When your 4 year old talks back to her father because she doesn't like what he asked her to do. Do NOT break out in hysterical laughter because she calls him a woman. The Little One did this a couple weeks ago. Yesterday as she was singing her silly mixed up songs, my brother-in-law and I were both trying to remember exactly how she phrased her little come back but to no avail. I just remember making the big parental faux pas of laughing out loud right in front of her and dad.
Then on Friday, Go-Go will be 7 years old and it will be the last girl scout meeting of the year. They are having a fancy tea party. The girls were asked to bring their own cup and saucer. Go-Go wants to bring one from a good china tea set, but Dad's opting for one from our everyday ware. We'll see who wins out Friday.
