Yesterday, Hubby took the tiles he glazed to get fired again. We all went, and I got to see how the three colors would look after they are fired. Hoping to get the hallway done next weekend.
Then this morning, Hubby took a look at our laundry alcove in the hallway. We turned our linen closest into a pantry, so the girls' linen and bathroom towels are shoved on the one shelf above the washer and dryer and in their closests. Not enogh closest space. Now Hubby is at the store to get more wood to put in two additional shelves in my laundry alcove.
At least he is working on something as we await our tile. I laughed when he told Go-Go she couldn't go to the store with him, because it will probably take him forever to pick out what wood he wants. I said, "A normal family would have had tile installed by now." Hubby tore up the carpeting back in May.
He smiled and said maybe but the extra time will be worth it. I hope he's right. I've seen pictures of what he wants to do with the tile, and it looks nice but worth 3 months of concrete flooring?!
Also the guy at the ceramic shop asked Hubby to take a picture of the tile when it is installed. I told him they wanted to use it for adverstizing, and he said, it's not their tile or work.
I said, No but it is their paint and firing job, and they want to use it as an example of what you can do with their products. After almost 3 months of indecision! I wonder how long hubby will be at the store this morning.
He put in shelves in our coat closest about 6 months ago, using redwood. When my dad saw it, he just shhok his head. The door is closed my dad suggested using plywood no one would be the wiser. Only problem is Hubby would be the wiser, and he didn't want plywood in his closest.
He's just dreaming of the day he can register this house as a historical home. It is a millenium house, you know. Okay, this may be worth something but not for at least another 50 years! Hubby laughed, yes but it'll take me that long to get it looking the way I want anyway.
His reasoning: I got the new house I wanted, so now he gets to make it look old.
