Saturday morning the whole family took a walk down to the corner park to check out the new rock wall. It took Go-Go a few tries, but by the time other families came ( nothing draws out a neighborhood like new playground toys), she was a climbing expert. The Little One wanted no part in scaling the little wall; however, she did enjoy running around with new friends pretending to be the black stallion.
While the girls played Hubby and I sat in the shade of one of the trees to watch. Go-Go tried to climb her "grey horse" - yes I remember when she used to sit in the trees, pretending they were carousel horses and the color she told me each tree was. I had to remark to hubby, I can't believe these are the same trees she used to straddle and ride. It's amazing how things change in 5 years.
Well at first Go-Go remarked she wished the playground had remained the way it was, but once she started climbing the wall and meeting new friends she was thrilled to have the new toy. Mom, on the other hand, sat there remembering the carousel horses Go-Go used to ride so enthusiastically when she was two. Then I wanted Go-Go's first sentiment to be true.
